event management
Looking after your day is our priority. We feel that we are far more than just caterers at Kingscote and want to ensure you have the best possible day.
On the day Bride & Groom's get to relax and enjoy the day, which of course is how it should be. However it then tends to fall on the wedding party (Parents, bridesmaids, siblings) to organise and arrange things.
We would prefer that they also got to relax and enjoy the day so we will very often take on additional roles and organisation to ensure everyone can relax enjoy the food, drink and day.
This page covers just some of the things we will assist with and look after.
Who looks after and manages our Civil Ceremony?
This is the responsibility of Kingscote Barn. One of their team will be on hand to ensure this runs smoothly, however we are on site and are happy to assist if required to help. From attaching button holes to managing the ceremony music we are there to help.
How do we keep to the timings for the day?
As much as possible we try to stick to the timings agreed at our final meeting (or revised if later) and I take responsibility of this, meaning you and your guests can just relax and not worry about watching the clock. Of course there is always a little flexibility on the day, but as much as possible we try to keep things moving along at the agreed rate.
Who manages the movement of our guests (Toast-Mastering)?
You have 2 options for this. Firstly, our managers will happily act as a toast master during your event. Making announcements as key points to keep the day moving along smoothly. We do find this works well, however your second option would be to have a member of your wedding party carry out these duties. This gives a more personal effect to the announcements and of course the person doing them will be liaised with by our manager on when and what is required. The only thing to consider if using a member of your party is 'are they happy to do it'? If you don't think you have anyone then I will happily look after this key role on the day.
If we're having a Civil Ceremony, when do the tables get laid and who decorates them?
As civil ceremonies take place in the main barn we have to set-up and lay tables during the drinks reception. We will set everything on the table including your decorations, leaving you and your guests to enjoy the reception.
If we're having a Church Ceremony, who decorates all the tables?
As with a civil ceremony, we will set everything on the tables including your decorations. Our aim is to have this done while you are at the church so we are able to show you the main barn on arrival at Kingscote.
What level of staffing will be at our wedding?
Within our standard pricing we supply a sufficient level of staffing we believe is required to provide a first class service. We pride ourselves on the level of staffing provided.
Will the manager be on site for the duration of our wedding?
Yes, we pride myself in the fact that our managers look after an event from start to finish. They will always be onsite before the start of your wedding and they will still be there when you and your guests depart.
Who is responsible for clearing the venue at the end of our event?
Just as we are happy to help setting up the venue, we will also help to clear up at the end of your event. This will either be to a vehicle or to the waiting room for you to collect our items the following morning. The only items we ask you to remove is any valuables. i.e. Presents, cards, cameras, guest books.
Is Strawberry Fields fully insured?
